This isn’t your typical happy hour. It’s a soothing watercolor ritual you can repeat for yourself anytime — not just a painting workshop, an experience. You’ll get mocktail recipes, the relaxing playlists we paint to, and the low-energy comforts that make an art space feel cozy.
Herbal tea, electrolytes, or a pretty mocktail. Recipes come to you before we meet.
Blanket, candle, the good pillow. Table, couch or bed — wherever your body actually wants to be.
Circles, calming playlists and zero pressure. No talking, no camera, no performing wellness.
We close with botanical mark-making and a nature poem, then you head back to your life softer.
You give so much to everybody else all week: the job, the appointments, the people who need you.
By the end of the day you’re so done you don’t want to talk to anybody or go anywhere, so you collapse straight into the scroll and another episode you’re not really watching. And somehow you feel worse after, not rested.
Then the quiet question creeps in: other people have full days and still make dinner after. So why am I so tired?
I know that spot well. When my body fell apart with chronic illness, painting at my kitchen table is what picked me up off the floor. Simple circle painting is still what I reach for when I’m sick, upset, or tired but restless.
In this live workshop you’ll learn three evidence-backed circle painting methods designed to get you into the flow state, where research shows stress hormones drop and, for a while, you’re not a patient, just a painter. Not to sell art. Not to become some amazing artist. Just to have one thing that’s yours.
“Painting, as a chronically ill person, has really helped me feel more independent and more ‘normal’, like I was before I became sick and lost my career and my whole life turned upside down.”
Real creating time, not a fluff workshop where you watch me talk about painting. You paint. And you never have to figure out what to paint: deciding is its own kind of tired, so I’ve done the deciding for you.
Nature-inspired circles you can’t get wrong. No drawing skills needed.
The enso, an ancient circle painted on a single exhale.
Layering and blooms. Play like a mad scientist, no rules, no right or wrong.
Botanical mark-making while I read a nature poem over calming music.
an energy note: paint the whole time, paint one circle and watch the rest, or watch now and paint later with your replay. From the table, the couch, or bed. The practice bends. You don’t have to.
“Even when I have nothing left in the tank I know I can still do something and also walk away a bit lighter and more resourced than before.”
Calming Circles, the #1 requested and most-shared watercolor wellness workshop in Healing Art with Katie since 2022.
Use the good stuff. It was never wasted on you. The supplies were never the problem — the blank page pressure was.
A few years ago I was a marketing director whose body came apart all at once: burnout, Celiac, Long COVID, POTS, grief, everything crumbling in the same season. One night, alone at my kitchen table, I logged onto an online painting event and felt calm, curious, and not alone for the first time in months.
That feeling is the whole reason this workshop exists. So I went back to school for it, and now my mission is to share the healing magic of painting with other women like me all over the world, because nobody should go through this alone, doomscrolling on the couch and feeling worse by the hour.
“Katie’s peaceful demeanor, soothing voice, and easy going style is just what I needed. I have always been a creative person but now I create for me, for the joy of it.”
“Calming Circles will always hold a special place in my heart as my favorite class. It embodies everything I cherish: the meditative quality, the sense of peace it brings, and the beautiful reminder that creativity and healing go hand in hand.”
“I don’t stress about whether it looks just right… either way I still get something out of the time I spent turning down the noise in my brain… if I can’t [attend live], I can revisit the recordings like calming circles… when I have a few minutes.”
Calming Circles gone global — women have painted this process everywhere from Iceland to Hawaii.
Calming Circles is normally $47. Right now it’s $7 for a limited time. That’s the full two-hour live workshop on Friday, August 28th at 4pm Eastern / 1pm Pacific, plus the replay to keep, the painting playlists, and the mocktail recipes. One payment, nothing recurring, no membership required.
Especially for you. If you freeze up with perfectionism or the judgment that comes along with it, this workshop was designed for exactly that. We paint for the process, not the product, and the process doesn’t care what it looks like. Scribbling counts.
Show up exactly as you are, for as much or as little as you can. Cameras stay optional, you can paint quietly alongside, and nothing here moves too fast for your brain or body. Your replay means you can watch or re-watch on your own time, in any time zone.
Nope. Any paper and any mark-making supply works: markers, pens, crayons, whatever’s in the drawer. Watercolors are a bonus, not a requirement.
No. I’m an arts in health practitioner, not a therapist, and this workshop is healing art for wellbeing, not treatment. If you’re in crisis, please reach out to a licensed professional or call 988.
